In October, we had the awesome luck to win a free engagement session with the photographer that will be doing our wedding! Or at least it took luck for me to see that there was a contest going on. Winning it was not luck at all, just some smart-sy David knowledge. I went to school with William and he was great – he actually spent all afternoon with us! First we were off to the Georgia Aquarium (we had some …

The Save the Dates we mean. On September 29th we made the walk to the mailbox together, camera in hand, and placed our stack of cards in the mailbox. We snapped a few pictures of them in situ despite strange looks from drivers, and then we both put our little red flag up. A milestone!
Now when you receive yours, I expect you’ll be blown away by the quality and consistency, but let me tell you that Katie made each one …

We weren’t sure how much would be blooming at the end of March and we did say that we’d do as much ourselves as we could and so for the next few months it’s paper flower makin’ time!
Instructions:
Cut a length of streamer about 4 or 5 inches long and then cut that in half length-wise. Each piece will make one flower.
For the “petals”, make cuts starting at the top and cutting almost to the bottom – make sure to leave …

VERY excited by all the design work I accomplished today! For starters, we knew we wanted to do a little something different with our guestbook and went back and forth between a couple of ideas (use a typewriter? small notes in little envelopes?) — and then found a nice sample guestbook page that had some fun questions and a spot for some drawing… perfect for us to add to a wedding scrapbook later along with photos from the photobooth, etc. …

As picky as I am about how things fit, I’m not afraid to say that both my mom and I were pretty wary about starting the dress search. I did a ton of online ogling of course, but wasn’t interested in ordering something from a shop online without being able to see it on first. And we also did some looking at sewing patterns, but I wasn’t convinced I would be able to DIY this particular part of the wedding.
Mostly, …

We’re getting questions about the colors we’ve chosen for the wedding. Up until now, we hadn’t discussed this particular point since we’ve only worked on collecting the mismatched plates and it has been anything goes color-wise. So! we started flipping though magazines and some of my inspiration journals for ideas. Here are a few pages that we’ll be using for color inspiration – and these are our favorites to be used in the wedding: buttery yellow, sea glass blue, …

We’ve pretty much committed to the idea of using mis-matched china for the big day and we’ll be periodically scouring the local goodwills and family attics for dessert/salad sized plates with any variety of colorful designs. I love the search, finding each new pattern, and seeing the pile grow higher. I don’t know about David, but I’m having the best time looking for these plates! When we told his sister what we were up to, she gave us a nice …

March 24th, 2012! Oh yeah! We’re excited now!
We finally got around to making a spontaneous visit of Roswell River Landing last Friday…
There was a nice guy hanging around helping his sister set up her wedding and he was nice enough to let us walk around and take a peek. It has potential! we thought. So we called the lady that does all the money collecting for the venue and left her a message. Just this morning, she leaves us a …

Testing, testing… hello!
The planning has begun! aaaannd due to a certain amount of overzealous pinning on Katie’s part, we are already ahead of the game as far as deciding on a style for our wedding. In a nutshell: a garden party with some vintage thrown in! And in the time it took for us to get this site set up, we’ve come up with a few key points to plan by for the months a-coming:
1) DIY it as often …
